Slayers began serialization in Dragon Magazine in 1989 as a short story series written by Hajime Kanzaka and with artwork by Rui Araizumi.

It is The Slayers. It retains the story, animation (only better), and same English voice actors that stared in the beginning.

The same cast (english and japanese) is back. I do not like the fact that this single story was split into "two" seasons, Revolution and Evolution-R. [SPOILER BIT] I do not like the fact that Lina Inverse's older sister does not finally make a live appearance. That is my difference between four stars and five. I first saw the originals on VHS and I watched the first three seasons again on DVD in preparation to make sure I'd pick up on all the references. And no, it's not the cunningly maneuvered "R". Lina, along with Gourry, Amelia, and Zelgadis, try to clear Lina's name.

It is fun. There will be some mild spoilers in my ranting but nothing too serious.Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan - Seisou-hen I have the previous collections, and even some of the movies (god knows why).

Although the original story ended with the 15th volume in 2000, Kanzaka began a new arc 18 years later in the May 2018 issue of Dragon Magazine, which was published in March 2018, to celebrate the magazine and Fujimi Fantasi… Well they tried to do that with this "Revolution" and I wish it was better. I'm a huge fan of this series, and I was ecstatic when I heard it was picking back up after a ten year hiatus.
