Happily, the core of the band has remained since their last release, ‘Dormant Heart’ in 2015. It speaks to the absurd quality of SYLOSIS that despite Josh Middleton ‘s pivotal role in 2018’s sublime ARCHITECTS record Holy Hell, his greatest personal achievements have always come from his original band. The riffing, which is consistently great throughout the album, the vocals, the mammoth chorus, the rhythm section, everything is at the absolute optimum level a Sylosis fan could wish for on this track. The military-style snare drumming is a nice touch before the song explodes into an epic, anthemic finale.Even the shorter, more confrontational title track has space in amongst the gargantuan riffs to deliver a dose of beautiful melody towards the end.
